Vinegar: Soak the sponge in full-strength vinegar for five minutes, then rinse and air dry.

Dishwasher: Place sponges on the top rack during a dishwasher cycle.

Microwave: Microwave a wet sponge for 30 seconds to eliminate bacteria, ensuring it's sufficiently moist to avoid fire hazards.
